Kihei Elementary Teachers earn National Board Certification

Congratulations to our Kihei Elementary educators who were honored at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification Celebration Ceremony at Kamehameha Schools Maui on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Student Council leads Pennies for Polio Drive

KIHEI ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL EARLY ACT GROUP COLLABORATES WITH ROTARY CLUB OF LAHAINA SUNSET FOR 3RD ANNUAL “PENNIES FOR POLIO” DRIVE

The Kihei Elementary School Student Council EarlyAct Group, consisting of 16 representatives from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes, have again joined forces with the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset for their third annual Pennies for Polio Drive. A fact sheet about the “End Polio Now/Pennies for Polio” Campaign was sent home with all students on Friday January 25th. There will be two class winners (one for each recess period) determined on the basis of the collected funds. The two winning classes will receive a Jamba Juice/healthy snack party from the Rotary club members during their recess. Collected funds will be sent to Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” campaign and will be matched 2-1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Student Quality Surveys (SQS) Sent Home!

The School Quality Survey (SQS) packet was sent home with students this week! This survey is your opportunity to give our school feedback regarding our areas of strength and our areas of growth. The information gathered is used to support school planning and improvement efforts.
Completed surveys may be mailed via USPS (prepaid envelopes are included) or returned to the school office. The due date for surveys is March 13, 2019. Our goal is to reach 100% participation!

Kihei Elementary students receive glasses!
