Student Council Drive earns $1460.00 for Polio!

Thank you to all the students and staff who helped to make the first Kihei Student Council Community Service project such a huge success. This fundraising drive earned $1460.00 for the End Polio Now program sponsored by Rotary International. One-fourth of these funds will be placed in the Kihei Student Council account at school for future projects. The remainder will be sent on to Rotary International and will be matched 3-1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset was so impressed with the results, that they decided to reward all classes who topped the $100 donation mark. These classes were the over-all winners in their respective categories and will receive Jamba Juice and granola bars during an upcoming morning recess:
Kinder - 1st: Ms. Reyes Kindergarten class - $125.66
2nd - 3rd: M. Huliganga, 2nd grade class - $94.15
4th - 5th: Ms. Tsuhako, 5th grade class - $152.07

These classes will receive Juice Boxes and granola bars for topping the $100 donation mark:
Ms. Macaluso, 4th grade - $115.21
Ms. Gray, 4th grade - $101.07
Mr. Schumacher, 4th grade - $133.11

Student Council Service Project

Student Council's First Service Project of the year is Pennies For Polio. Students are collecting pennies to help eradicate polio nationwide. Pennies will be collected October 28th. The class with the most pennies wins Jamba Juice!
